The Body Shop Deep Sleep Dreamy Pillow Mist Review

The Body Shop Deep Sleep Dreamy Pillow & Body Mist - £10

After featuring the Deep Sleep Pillow Mist in my The Body Shop  Christmas Gift Guide I soon decided I had to have it! After spending all my life having absolutely no problems being able to sleep at anytime, anywhere, it was a massive shock to the system when long days at work and a general busy life meant it got more and more difficult to switch off at night...  Sometimes made all the more difficult when there's laptop, mobile phone or laptop near the bed!

Not quite as natural smelling as I'd have expected, however the calming jujube date extract and camomile does smell lovely.  Most nights I spritz my pillow and duvet, but despite the fact that night time movement is supposed to release the fragrance, I have been disappointed that the scent never seemed to last more than half an hour.  I do also think that the term 'mist' has been used a bit loosely, I've found it a quite annoying that the spray leave my bed sheet a little damp!

The scent is comforting but I cant say I get to sleep any quicker or sleep and deeper.  The Body Shop's Deep Sleep Pillow Mist has definitely opened my eyes up to pillow mists.  Let me know if you know of any that I should try!

L'Occitane Unisex Cologne

I've got quite a few perfumes in my collection, and even managed to review a fair few of them on here.  I'm in love with a good fragrance so jumped at the chance to review one from L'Occitane's first cologne collection!  Inspired by the citrusy freshness of the En Provence region, the range is made up of scents meant for women and men.  I was immediately intrigued as I've never tried a cologne meant for women, but also the range contains three fragrances, one for women, one for men and one unisex!  I love the idea of trying a unisex scent so was over the moon to be sent Eau Universelle*!

Described as invigorating and sunny, a whirlwind of freshness with a citrus accord of Mediterranean grapefruit and bergamot essential oils to seduce most men and women, I have to agree that this cologne is perfect for summer.  This scent seriously reminds me of something, and I'm going to be really annoying and say I can't remember what!  Though whatever it is, it's really lovely and brings back some good memories of holidays!  I do think that the Eau Universelle aromas are a great mix of masculine and feminine, and although anyone who has read any of my previous perfume reviews will know that I usually go for typically sweet and girly fragrances, I love that the amber and woody notes give it that extra depth.  Running this by Chris however,  he doesn't agree - to my great annoyance - declaring Eau Universelle as just 'too fruity' to be something that he would wear.  Oh well.

I also love the art deco inspired glass bottle, this is the 50ml and looks very classy in my opinion.  With a spritz cap and billed as perfect for travelling, Eau Universelle will definitely be accompanying me on my France - Italy road trip in two weeks time!

Does the idea of a unisex cologne appeal to you?  Let me know if you've ever tried anything other L'Occitane fragrance.

This is a very late post on the 1st Birthday edition of the Glossybox, but I wanted to get something up to show you what I got before the June box arrives!  The reason this post is so late is that I was feeling a little uninspired by the May box, and from reading other reviews this month I don't think I'm the only one.  I little disappointing after having few really good boxes recently, I suppose we all just had high hopes for the one year anniversary box!

The Noble Isle Bath & Shower gel does smell lovely, quite citrusy, though the scent is described as elderflower and gooseberry.  Nothing to get excited about, and with a full size bottle coming in at around the £20 not something I can imagine myself repurchasing!  Still, this will come in handy when I'm on holiday.  I don't like receiving these type of perfume samples in beauty boxes, I think that if we're paying for something the quality should be a bit better and these literally are the sample types that you can pick up from a perfume counter without even having to ask.  Both the Lolita Lempicka scents are nice, L'Eay en Blanc being very fresh, like fresh laundry and Si Lolita being more spicy.  I'm not sure either are quite my perfect scent however.  I'm not a massive fake eyelash wearer, I love the effect but am crap at applying them.  I must say I'm little freaked out that the Let's Go Lashes are 100% human hair... I wouldn't think twice about human hair extension but something about it being near eye feels a little strange!  I'll probably use these one day though!

Weleda is a brand that I'm quite pleased see in the Glossybox, though I was a little disappointed by not really knowing what this Wild Rose product is!  There is no english to be found anywhere on the packaging and the Glossybox product list wasn't very helpful either.  The little moon symbol on the packaging suggests this is some kind of night cream?  The consistency is quite thick, almost greasy, so I'm not really sure I'll be using it on my face.  The sample size is so small that I think I'm just going to carry it in my handbag to use up on my hands.  It is very moisturising though so I'm looking forward to using it up.

My favourite product of the box was the Uniqone All in One Hair Treatment.  A leave in mask that offers 10 benefits that hair needs and I must say I've enjoyed using it so much I've used up the whole sample!  I'm not sure about all the '10 benefits' but it definitely helps me brush out my tangled hair after a shower and it definitely leave my hair very soft.  I'm actually going to be purchasing a full size bottle!

So, other than the Uniqone product, this months Glossybox was a bit 'bleh' for me, even despite the extra gesture of a handy little compact mirror!

Are you subscribed to any beauty boxes?  What did you think of this months Glossybox.  Did any of you get the HD Brows Grow Baby Grow?  It looks quite interesting, I'm always on the look out for something to thicken up my sparse light brows!!

I don't usually look at much other than the food in Marks & Spencer, but when I was waiting for a friend to finish in the loos during a shopping trip I thought I'd have a wonder round the perfume section.  And I'm very glad I did!  The Marks & Spencer perfume collection is perfect for affordable scents!  It was all the pretty bottles that caught my eye, they were totally inspired by high end perfumes, like Michael Kors, Chloe,  Marc Jacobs and Givenchy... after a few sniffs I noticed the fragrances were a little high end 'inspired' too!

With full size 100ml bottles coming in at only roughly £12, and prices starting as low as £3.50 for 10ml, what better for a little handbag fragrance?!  There was a 'buy one get half price' offer on throughout March so I ended up with two of the purse sprays for only £9!

Leilah is an incredibly sweet fruity-floral scent, just what I'm drawn to!  With top notes of mandarin and raspberry, apple and lily mid notes, and rich base notes of vanilla and musk, it very much reminds me of Marc Jacobs Oh, Lola!  The design of the full size bottles of Butterfly is also very Marc Jacobs-esc, the scent is also JUST like the popular DKNY Be Delicious!  Again, just my style with 'fresh green' notes of apple, cucumber and grapefuit mixed with magnolia flower, rose and violet on top of the base notes of musk and amber.   Yum!

You can probably guess from the price tag but these perfumes don't last a massive amount of time, but we all know that can sometimes be the case with perfumes you have to pay over 50 quid for!  If you're on a budget and want a cheap and cheerful perfume I'd definitely get yourself down to M&S!!

As you're all probably aware by now, this months Glossybox was limited edition collaboration with Harrods.  A really great move in my opinion and much needed after the 'meh-ness' of the February Glossybox!  Though I'm not overly fussed with a few items, this months is one of my favourite Glossybox's so far.  I'm loving experiencing some of the high end products Harrods is known for and that I wouldn't usually splash out on.

I've seemed to accumulated a few Molton Brown samples recently, but I suppose they are handy for holidays.  Although I don't think any normal person can get too excited about a shower gel, the Heavenly Gingerlily scent is lovely and fresh!  Another product which is 'nice to try' but you can't get to excited about is the Clarins Extra Firming Body Cream, I feel like every month I'm saying 'oh no, not another body lotion'!  I got one in January's and February's boxes, at least the offerings are getting better and better by the month...  I don't think the sample is big enough to test just how firming this lotion can be, but certainly smells nice and is moisturising so does the job nicely!

Onto the products I'm more excited about!  A lot of people moan about receiving perfume in the Glossybox but I'm a bit of a perfume addict and so was very pleased to a little sample spritzer this month.  When first spraying the Narciso Rodrigues, For Her fragrance, the first thing I thought was, 'for mum'!  However when I got on with the rest of my day I found myself smelling my wrists and loving how this slightly more mature fragrance settled on me.  So sorry mum, this one is staying in my handbag!  The Burberry Beauty Miniature Lip Mist has been much raved about in the other reviews I've read.  This teeny tiny sample has the most stunning packaging I've seen for some time, with both the casing and lipstick bullet itself both embossed with the signature Burberry checks.  The lipstick itself is very moisturising and has the glossy-sheer finish that I like, but the colour (No. 202 Copper) just doesn't suit me.  I think this is something that actually going to pass to mum, while I check out the colours in the range.  Finally, my favourite product is the YSL Forever Youth Liberator Serum.  I own a few serums already, and although I can't guarantee they actually work I love the idea of them and will continue to give them a go.... and this YSL serum seems to be quite sciencey so I have high hopes!  Just one drop of this serum is seriously all you need to cover your whole face! It's silky texture just glides all over!  Lovely.

Have you subscribed to receive the Harrods Glossybox?  Or have tried any of the products mentioned here?  As usual, let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

Happy Valentine's Day!  I hope that you have all had a lovely day!  I've been smelling particularly nice this Valentine's because Chris woke me up this morning with a little beauty, for me perfume is the best Valentine's gift!

Jimmy Choo describe this fragrance as a modern fruity chypre with warm, rich, woody depths. With luminous green top notes, an aura of rich exotic tiger orchid and base notes of sweet toffee meld with Indonisian patchouli.

I wish I could sniff a perfume and reach such depths of a description!  Alas.  I can definitely smell the sweetness of toffee, though this perfumes reminds more of raspberries than anything else.  What I do know is that I this perfume is lovely, and really fits in with collection at the moment, which includes, namley, Juicy Couture's Couture Couture, Marc Jacob's Daisy, Paco Rabanne's Lady Million and Armani Code.  It's typically sweet perfumes that I go for, particulary for during the day.  Jimmy Choo fits this genre  exactly, but not in that sickly way some celebrity perfumes achieve, it's just more , well, mature.  The best thing about this perfume is that it lasts!  All day!... unlike some of the others mentioned above.  When first spritzed, being an eau de parfum, it can be a little overpowering, but I don't mind that, all the better for lasting all day!

On to the bottle design... I think it's close to perfect (even if it does remind me of a hand grenade, and it's very similar to Viktor & Rolf's Flowerbomb)!  Very classy from the sturdy black square cap to the beautifully shaped, thick glass bottle.  It's now taking pride of place on my dressing table!

What do you think of this perfume?  Let me know what your favourite perfumes are at the moment.  I hope you all managed to spend your Valentine's Day with people you care about!

I met up with my friend the other weekend who is seriously the most perfume obsessed girlie you could ever meet!  It wasn't a shock when we ended up in the perfume section of Harvey Nichols admiring an offer that was on the Juicy Couture range...

The offer on at the time was to get all the above items when you bought a Juicy Couture ring or bracelet for £35.  As you can see from the pictures, I opted for this gorgeous ring which though the perfect accessory on it's own, actually opens up to contain the solid Couture Couture fragrance.  My friend also went for the same ring, we both like our bling!!

I'm actually writing this post while on holiday in Gozo, Malta, as I thought that the holiday would be a great time to try out the sample sized body moisturiser, shower gel and purse sized Couture Couture perfume.  These three products are perfect for travelling and great as products in their own right, I particularly love the Couture Couture fragrance.  With notes of Orange Flower, Star Jasmine, Plum and Vanilla, it is definitely on my list for repurchase when this little bottle runs out... I'd actually recommend the perfume itself over the ring any day, particularly if it's a scent that you're after rather than bling.  The ring is actually a major disappointment when it comes to scent, I obviously wasn't expecting something as long lasting or strong smelling as an au de parfam, but I've bought solid perfumes before expected something a bit more durable than this as it seems to fade as soon as it touches the skin!  Also, if you end up manically topping up like I do, you'll probably notice a chalky white residue on your wrists, nice!

Anyway, the perfume is lovely so if you are interested you can buy it here:

80ml Eau De Parfum
So when my boyfriend, Chris, came back from his snowboarding holiday he came baring gifts!  I've wanted Lady Million by Paco Rabanne ever since smelling it (and absolutely dousing myself in it) in Malta Airport's Duty Free in August last year. So I was very excited when he surprised me with this yesterday!

I love the diamond shaped bottle capped with bright gold, inspired by the famous Paco Rabanne metal dresses and designed to be a partner to the male fragrance, 1 Million. It was actually the shape of the bottle that drew me to sample it in the Duty Free, as any marketing of it in the UK had clearly passed me by!

According to boots.com the top notes are bitter orange, fleshy raspberry and neroli, followed by floral notes of orange blossom and Arabian jasmine and base notes of patchouli, honey and amber. I'm personally not great at identifying these different elements, other than the beautifully subtle orange and hint of honey, all I can really say about this fragrance is that it's perfect for anyone who likes sweet, fruity & floral perfumes. For anyone that could be put off by an overly sweet fragrance, you won't be with Lady Million. It develops elegantly with wear into a much more subtle, almost musky scent.

I can definitely see this being my perfume of choice, for both day and night, for a long time to come!

I'm always on the look out for that perfect perfume, let me know which are yours in the comments below!
