I wore this dress on a night out in Rome.  I paired it with my trusty Joe Brown boots, though primarily for comfort, as after hours and hours or walking around the ancient city I couldn't face wearing the heals I'd packed for the trip!  It turns out I really love how the boots give the pretty Vero Moda Butterfly dress a 'rock' edge!  I was really happy with how the look fit right in with the laid back Roman style I saw in bars and restaurants.

Zalando.co.uk were kind enough to ask me to pick an item from their website.  I absolutely love the idea behind Zalando, with tonnes of great brands all in one place, even better that most are really affordable! And with free shipping (and returns) it makes shopping that bit easier.  The selection and variety of clothes and shoes is fab, I was only slightly frustrated that the few fave items I initially wanted to choose had sold it in my size!  I suppose they were just too popular... oh well!  I've been on the website a few times since though and haven't had the same problem though!

*Although I received this dress for free I picked it out myself, I have not been compensated in any other way for my review.

Our third day in Rome was filled with more wonderful sight seeing.  Despite my many visits to this favourite city, I had never visited the Castel Sant'Angelo which dominates the banks of the river.  Well, after the popularity of Dan Brown's Angel and Demons, and the fact that the building was originally my favourite Emperor, Hadrian's, mausoleum (Yes, I have a favourite Roman Emperor!) we decided to pay the landmark a visit!  Despite the amazing views of the Vatican, if you're only visiting Rome for a few days, I'd give Castel Sant'Angelo a miss.

Heading further into the city we visited the beautiful Pantheon and stunning, yet crazy busy Trevi Fountain - where we had to wait AGES for a space to take a picture!  Another busy day surrounded by swarms of tourists we couldn't wait to relax with a gelato.  Make sure you visit La Gelateria Frigidarium if you're ever in Rome!

Before I go on talking about our second day in Rome, I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who has left me such lovely twitter, facebook, and blog messages congratulating me and Chris on our engagement!  I've been really overwhelmed, THANKS GUYS!

Our second day in Rome was a scorcher!  It was soooo good going from freezing cold England to a lovely warm and sunny Italy, it had felt like so long since I'd worn a floaty skirt and vest top during the day!  We did so much walking, wanting to see as many sights as possible on our first full day in the Eternal City.  Heading straight to the Spanish Steps, we wondered round the designer stores nearby.  After strolling round countless piazza's, and eating a fabulous pizza at lunch, we headed to the Ancient Roman Forum.  My favourite area of Rome!

I'm back from Rome, had an absolutely amazing time!  Big news, Chris proposed at the Pantheon on our last night!  It was a massive surprise, despite Chris wanting to pop the question for years!!  I really can't believe I'm engaged!  Exciting!

Stepping back a few nights though, this was my outfit from our first night in Rome.  Being in Italy it was nice not having to wear layers upon layers!  I actually stayed in these comfy boots from Joe Browns the whole holiday.  With all the walking we always end up doing when visiting Rome I don't know why even thought to bring heels!!  After a very early flight, come evening all we wanted to do was wander around the local area.  Our apartment was On Via Giulia, about 5 - 10 minutes walk from Piazza Navona, we bought yummy chestnuts from one of the many street vendors, drank cocktails and ate the nicest risotto ever at Mimie e Coco.

I'll be posting the rest of my holiday outfits and pictures over the next week.  I hope you all have a great week!
