Studded Zara Clutch Bag Fashion BlogStudded Zara Clutch Bag Fashion

Just a very quick post to show you all the gorgeous new addition to my wardrobe!  I'd been eyeing up this studded clutch in Zara for some time, though hadn't actually mentioned how much I loved it to anyone other than a very bored Chris who'd ben dragged round the shops.  Well last week my mum surprised me with one!  I was so shocked, I actually thought I'd told her about it!  Just a bit bigger than a large purse it'll be perfect to wear for a night out or a meal.  I can't wait to feature it in an outfit post soon!

Brown Focco Bag - ebay £19.99

Like just about everyone last summer, I was never seen without my black ebay focco.  Alas, after pretty much non stop use the zip broke early this year, boo.  I was a little gutted but figured I'd definitely got my money worth, and at the end of the day it was only a cheap ebay bag.  Well skip forward 3 months and I found myself back on ebay clicking the buy it now button on a brown version!  I'd missed it more than I realised, it really is the perfect bag design and can hold just about anything you could want to carry!!

I bought from a different ebay seller and the slightly different to my black version, which features in many OOTD pictures (here and here).  For a start, I received a long strap with the tan version, which is always handy and looks great.  It has a really cute flower patterned lining too, and even though it has the usual gold hardware, the side zippy bits are much better designed - the zip on the black bag was always falling down!

Even though the black focco will always be my first love when it comes to ebay bags, I can see myself buying it in black again, I'm loving this light brown for summer!  Get ready to see seeing in many an outfit post!!

I'm a bit of a bag junkie and was beyond excited to discover customisable bags when the lovely girls at Clippy London contacted me to tell me about the unique range created by this independent company.

For those of you who haven't heard of Clippy, the concept came about when creator Calypso started displaying her fave polaroid pictures in a bag.  When people started admiring her new creation she went into production and Clippy London became a stall on Portobello Road, growing in popularity ever since!

It's so much fun being able to swap and change my bags design, depending on my mood and any interesting pictures I happen to stumble across.  As you can see I was in a bit of girly mood for my trip to York today, and had gone for pictures of holidays to Rome and Malta, flowers, flags, and pretty clippings from magazines!  I also received a pretty silver trimmed make-up bag, where the pockets for inserting pictures are also dead handy for storing small, loose bits of make-up.  I'm next going to check out the style your own clutch bags and pencil cases, they're so cute and look amazing personalised with magazine covers.

A quick note on the rest of my outfit, I don't know about the rest of the country, but the temperature has really dropped again in Yorkshire!  It feels like a lifetime ago that we had the crazy high temperatures in March!  I am determined to make the most of my disco pants and get out of the mind frame of only wearing them on nights out.  Because they're quite thick the cooler weather has allowed me to wear them more during the day at least!

I wanted to end on an exciting note on the Clippy bags, the lovely Calypso has kindly offered all my readers free delivery with any order from the Clippy range!  All you have to  do is enter the code CHBLOG before you check out.  So check out their website!  The offer is valid until the end of May 2012.

I thought this was a funny outtake, what on earth is going on with my hand!   I think I was trying to get my hair out of my face, it was a very windy day in York!

Browsing Net-a-Porter is one of my favourite hobbies, I love finding designer inspiration that I'll then go and scour the high street.  Whilst looking for Christmas party dress inspiration I stumbled across this amazing Alexander McQueen clutch.  The signature skull clasp sits in amazingly amongst the beads, crystals and feather detail.  It would look just stunning with a simple black dress.  So, in true High End Done High Street fashion, here are my favourite budget replicas!

1. Oasis Glitter Clutch £26  |  2. New Look Studded Clutch £43.99 (sale)  |  3. ASOS Conical Stud Feather Clutch £15 (sale)  |  4. Miss Selfridge Black Multi Embellish Clutch £28  |  5. Zara Feather Clutch £59.99

I got two new bags recently, and oh how I love them!

Lollipop26 is back, and inspiring us all once again now that she's blogging on buy now, blog later.  After she bought more than a couple focco bag's, I was sufficiently jealous enough to head on over to her recommended eBay store and get myself in on the action!  I've featured this bag already on my blog but I wanted to get you guys a bit more up close and personal, as I love this bag!  I actually wanted the grey one (still do!) but it was sold out for so long, I just couldn't wait any longer that I went ahead and bought the black!  It's my new favourite bag. I been wearing it every day since it was delivered and you can literally fit your whole world in it!  An absolute bargain at roughly £34!

Speaking of bargains, my mum also picked up this stunning Fiorelli bag for me on one of her charity shop trips.  I follow a few bloggers who would love to do a charity shop spree with my mum, few could rival her when it comes to amazing charity shop finds!  This bag is brand spanking new and I think my mum paid around £10, amazing price for a Fiorelli.  This retro, croc-effect style bag has been done by so many of the big designers, Jimmy Choo and Marc Jacobs, that it will forever be a classic piece.  Perfect for work, and everything else!

Bags! Bags! Bags!  Whoop! :)

I love to torture myself by browsing the stunning Net-A-Porter website, I'm obviously masochistic in some way??  :-P  Really, I love browsing their weekly online magazine for inspiration and ultimately what designer copies to look out for on the high street.  Sooo, here is what I've been lusting after this week, but most importantly the hight street equivalents I found that are that little bit kinder to your purse!

High End

What can I say about this season's Versace must have bag, I want it in both styles!  Colourful and perfect for summer it would look great in the city or by the sea in the south of France... but now to snap back to reality...

High Street

1. Warehouse Leather Aztec Bag £55 | 2. Aldo Merlette Hobo £35
3. Accessorize Fringe Peony Shawl Scoop Bag £35  | 4. Urban Outfitters Panelled Cross-Body Bag £38 | 5. Urban Outfitters Leather Fringe Bag £88

My absolute fave's from the high street are Aldo's Hobo and Urban Outfitter's Panelled Cross-Body.  With their tribal-come-aztec bright colours they really invoke the feel that Versace was going for, if only they had that delicate fringe detail!

I've desperately needed a new bag for ages now, so I didn't have to think twice about what to ask for from my parents for my recent birthday.

During a recent shopping trip I quickly spotted the black ‘lexus’ frill shoulder bag by John Rocha for Debenhams and straight away thought that it perfectly suited what I was looking for.

Brand new, labels and all
Frill detail
The back
So you can get an idea of the size
Please ignore the extremely casual clothes,
this picture was taken on a very cold and very lazy Sunday evening!

I wanted something fashionable yet classic, adaptable and practical, as this bag will mainly be used for work.  However I also wanted something that could look ‘dressed-up’ if I wanted to wear it out for a meal etc and I think the gorgeous frills add just that touch.  I tend to carry a lot around with me too (at any one time: purse, keys, gloves, umbrella, sunglasses, novel, Italian dictionary, make-up, the list goes on and on…!) so the fact that this bag has a 3 different compartments is a definite plus!  I'm really pleased with the quality of this bag, the leather is lovely and soft, the inner finishing is great for the price, and now I've road-tested this to work I know that it can comfortably fit all the junk that I insist on carrying around!!  I just wish that it came it some different colours!  ...I’m not sure I would have gone for anything different though, I have a light coloured leather jacket which I’m going to be wearing more as the weather gets nicer, so I think black would be the best contrast against this, rather than any kind of camel or teal colour, which potentially could clash.
