REVIEW: Avène Thermal Water
After the great results I got from the Avène Skin Recovery Cream (click for review), which completely cleared up my dry and irritated skin and which I can see myself repurchasing again and again, I've become a massive fan of the French pharmaceutical brand Avène. When shopping for those summer holiday essentials I picked up the Thermal Water Spray, purely because I trusted the brand so much!
The Thermal Water Spray simply contains the Avène Thermal Spring Water and nitrogen. I do feel like there is something a little strange in buying a can simply full of water as a beauty product. However there is something a little special about the Avène Water, that is very low mineralised, rich in silica and trace elements and is clinically proven to be naturally soothing, anti-irritating and anti-free radical.
It gets quite hot in Malta (!) so I thought this would be the perfect product to soothe any sunburn, shaving or heat rash I may get on holiday, as well as just to simply cool me down! I really loved using this product. It was in my beach bag at all times, ready for use to trap in moisture between applications of sun cream, to help clear my skin of salt water residue after dips in the sea and to soothe my skin at the end of the day. One regret was not having a smaller version of the product to fit in my hand luggage and rehydrate me on the plane!
Now I'm back home from holiday I've been quickly spritzing my skin after cleansing, and prior to moisturising as a great way of getting the great minerals found in the Thermal Water locked into my skin. If nothing else it makes my skin feel lovely and refreshed!
