No7 Beautiful Skin BB Cream, Medium - Boots (£12.95)*
This was the product that converted me to BB creams! I tend to not bother with foundations during the day, but because my skin is far from perfect I've always hidden imperfections with a tinted moisturiser. I was always intrigued by BB creams - particularly with the claim that they improve skin tone and help fight blemishes. However having oily skin I didn't feel overly confident after reading countless reviews about yellow toned greasy BB creams.
No7 were one of the first brands to bring out a BB cream tailored towards different skin types. I received a couple of the Normal /Dry versions in Medium at the Meadowhall Bloggers Event back in March, and as I've mentioned before I've a tenadancy to get oily skin so wouldn't have necessarily picked Normal / Dry myself. However, I've had plenty of time to give the product a go in a variety of climates, and really like it!
I've had reason to think for some time now that my oiliness is due to my skin being dehydrated, perhaps this is why the Normal /Dry seems to be working for me. The cream is quite thick but works well when applied with both a Real Techniques Buffing Brush and your fingers. It at first leaves a rather dewy look to the skin, which I personally like, but which also soon sinks in nicely. The coverage is amazing, it really works well at hiding my spots and creating an even base, for applying a powder and the rest of your make-up. All BB creams claim to be able to work wonders in improving the condition your skin. I'm not sure that this true of No Beautiful Skin BB Cream, I certainly didn't get any fewer spots with use, however my skin did feel a lot softer and smoother a few weeks of use!
Although the Medium tone works well with my colouring I think it's slightly on the dark side compared to other 'medium' colours produced by other brands, it's a lot lighter than both the L'Oreal Nude Magique or 17 BB cream in medium, for example. I do tend to get a bit oily towards the end of the working day wearing this BB cream, however this something that happens to be no matter what I have on! I'll definitely be trying the No7 Beautiful Skin BB Cream tailored towards oily skin next time, to see how that works, but to be honest I'd be happy to continue with the version I've tried!
I know BB creams can be one of those love or hate products, let me know where do you stand in the comments!
